Information We Collect

We collect several categories of information in order to provide and improve the Service.

Account and Contact Information

  • Email address, name, and other contact information you provide when creating an account or contacting us
  • Payment, payout, and advertiser account information needed to operate the Service

Usage and Device Information

  • IP address, browser type, app version, pages visited, and the time and date of your activities
  • Device, session, and diagnostic information used for security, fraud prevention, and performance

Face Data and Computer Vision Data

Adverse collects facial landmark data to measure engagement. We also run computer vision models to detect emotions, age, and gender. This data is collected and used to verify engagement so we can offer rewards to customers and trust to advertisers.

  • Facial mesh / landmark data
  • Eye openness and attention signals
  • Head pose and face-presence signals
  • Estimated age-range outputs
  • Gender-confidence outputs
  • Emotion-model outputs such as happy, sad, angry, fearful, disgusted, surprised, and neutral

We do not use this data for face recognition or to identify a specific person across other apps or services.

How We Use Data

Adverse uses collected data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To verify engagement during eligible video playback
  • To determine whether a user is present and paying attention during a rewarded viewing session
  • To create viewing receipts, check-ins, fraud review records, and aggregate analytics for advertisers
  • To provide customer support
  • To monitor, secure, and improve the Service
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical, fraud, abuse, and security issues

Face Data Use, Disclosure, Sharing, and Storage

Face data is used only within the Adverse app experience for eligible advertisements and videos shown in the app. The facial mesh analysis described in this policy is only performed in this app.

Face data is not sold. We do not share face data with third parties for their independent marketing or advertising purposes. Face data is securely stored as part of Adverse's service infrastructure in order to support engagement verification, rewards, fraud review, analytics, and related operational needs.

Retention of Face Data

Face-data-derived recordings and related face-analysis records are retained for up to 6 months after video completion. After that period, Adverse no longer serves those .adv files and retains face data only as long as necessary to satisfy applicable legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or compliance obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified according to our retention practices.

Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including face data, from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date as appropriate.
